Petronas Twin Towers. The traffic in that area is wild, and it’s getting worse since they keep building.
It’s surrounded by many other impressive buildings, such as this one covered in plants
Shopping… too bad I can’t really carry any more things
Local walking street market
You know what? Let’s paint everything in rainbow colors!
Batu Caves entrance
Just four weeks before we came here, they finished painting the grey stairs and other structures in trippy colors – without the formal permissions, they would have needed. It’s been in the news lately.
Colors everywhere
Pigeons preparing to paint everything white again
Monkeys and humans like the paint job
The stairs are ruled by monkeys

Monkey Yoga
Every stair a different shade
Another monkey baby
Made it 😅
I hate portrait orientation photos, but this one makes sense
The colorful stairs distract from the 42 m high golden statue of Murugan, a Hindu deity
Looks as if a hyperactive 5-year-old has colored this with his Crayons, but still impressive.
Inside the caves
The insides of the caves are also full of shrines
Cliffs on the inside. If you look closely, you can see monkeys climbing the rock face.
Looking at his friends up there
Crazy mix of grey rock face and colorful shrines
Ten different species of bats are living in the massive cave. Cute ones and those with a sonar-thing in their face.
Nando’s
My first time at a Nando’s, the casual restaurant chain from South Africa that hasn’t made it to Germany yet.
Good stuff
Very proud of their spicy sauces
We actually tried pure durian!
You can smell this durian market stand from 10 m away
Durian feast
After all the complaining about the disgusting durian smell in the streets, we decided to try it for real. This is pure durian (on the right) with vanilla soft ice cream. The taste is impossible to describe, but it definitely tastes worse than it smells.
A shop dedicated to the mighty durian
Fancy place, not so fancy place
Happy hour in a fancy sky bar
Not so fancy place, but the pancake tower was impressive!
