I always felt comfortable and always found my way around speaking English only. Even in China. Until now… Welcome to Central America – where people don’t understand a word of English. Often, at least. I’m not saying they should. People just talking to you in Spanish like everybody in the world knows Spanish, is just a new thing for me. The first couple of days, before I got used to this, I felt a bit isolated, not being able to have even the most basic conversations with people. Why again do we learn French at school and not Spanish?
Kids, learn English and Spanish and you’re covered. And maybe Chinese if you’re a masochist.
